Nurturing abandoned natives
Violet purpurea - these native violets are my little treat to myself. They epitomize and symbolize perfectly what I’m trying to do with this whole ‘VibrantStartz’ venture. That is save some native plants from the trash/compost and try to appreciate their beauty and maybe encourage some other eyes to gaze and feel amazed. In my pursuits as a ‘native plant’ landscaper I nevertheless am asked time after time to ‘weed’ the violets that have seeded themselves in my clients’ gardens/yards. These persnickety little bastards are notoriously difficult to weed out as the leaves/stems will break off and leave behind their root bulb / good chunk of meristem that can easily regrow. They grow well between various hardscapes and only need a slim crack of soil/ sunlight. But, however they do indeed support the local pollinators, they do indeed have pretty little flowers, and when grown as a lawn replacement or otherwise cover crop and taken care of (or neglected and left alone) they flourish and grow to a healthy, vibrant plant / native flower. I like to save them and plant them in random filler spots in my yard. When I’m ‘weeding’ / rearranging the plants in my yard I’ll try and save them and them move them to spots around the yard that I’ve recently freed up of annoying invasive weeds / ornamentals that have become invasive. The violets seem to thrive where I move them and add a little purple/blue punch to the yard.

[It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.]
